Compositions

What do you guys do in order to make your composition look more well written?

I usually try to do these:

- use the passive voice
-use 'not only did he blablabla, he also blabla'
- use fancy conjunctions
-use fixed expressions when it is possible

basically, thats what I do.. any suggestions?

  1. Hi Lara,

I guess more people could benefit from this post of yours. Perhaps we could get them to chip in with a couple of suggestions in class, huh?!

I guess you've been doing a good job, and bearing all of that in mind when writing is important. It's paramount that you focus on the structures and vocabulary you use and make sure you vary them (passive voice, inversions, conjunctions, and collocations are a nice starting point).

One thing that usually helps a lot is planning it carefully from the start. If you know what comes first and how to logically progress, your text is bound to have a very positive feedback on your target reader, which is also something they look for in the exam.

    Cheers,

    Henrick
